Community Service covers the projects and activities the club undertakes to improve life in its community.

What we completed in 2017 - 2018

Purchased a water tank and stand for the very popular  Fernlea House Op Shop.  This allows them to help grow their own vegetables for use at Fernlea House.
Provided funds for the Christmas hampers for St. Marks and St. Luke’s in Cockatoo
Donated money for Gembrook, Cockatoo, Emerald and Macclesfield Primary Schools to help with the start of year cost of sending a student to school. This money was provided for families that were facing difficulties in this area.
We were able to provide much needed funding for 4 tablets – one for each of the above schools for students with learning disabilities.  These will remain at the School, but be used specifically for students with special needs.

Much thanks goes to the wonderful committee of 2017-2018:
  • Don Borg, for making the journey week after week from Mornington to Emerald – it’s quite a drive.
  • Russ Neilsen, who has sat in at board level for me few times this year and has offered his wisdom
  • Catherine Elfick for her passion and ideas
  • Kerry Champness, who knows everything that is going on in Emerald
  • Linc – he has done quite a bit of world travel, it was good to have him on the committee.
I look forward to another year as Community Chair
