Hellooooo you wonderful Rotarians!

And so, like turns of a Rotary Wheel, another week passes.  A week filled with sunshine, rain, Zoom meetings, District Changeover and an International Convention.

I’m writing this at some ungodly hour of Sunday morning so not to miss the Sparkle press, I did watch some of the opening ceremony of the International Convention, but with all good intentions, I haven’t made it to a breakout session of the convention.  That time difference is a bit of a killer!!  However!  I did make it to District Changeover!  Emerald & District was well represented with at least 7 members zooming in to congratulate Shia on a great year as District Governor and to wish Alma Reynolds all the best for her year.  The changeover took the format of a webinar where we just watched the action, followed by interactive zoom cluster meetings that Shia and Alma popped into to say g’day and answer questions.  I can confidently say, that the Rotary Club of Emerald and District brightened the night of many.  😉😄🤣

I wonder what magical mysteries this week will hold for us!?  Our guest speaker is Jeanette Etherington, who will give us a presentation about Interplast, an organisation that makes incredible things happen; changing people’s lives in the most amazing ways.  Please join the meeting to hear more!
The Victorian Govt has announced further restrictions as several more cases of COVID-19 have broken out.  Our hopes of returning to in person meetings soon have been set back a bit as a result, however our health should be the priority so Zoom meetings will continue for a while yet, I suspect.  At least we have technology to help keep us connected.

Please find below the Zoom link for this week’s fun and frivolity!

I hope you have a lovely week and see you all round like a Rotary Wheel!

Hooroo for now,
C xxx
