Gus at Belgrave running a connections program to send business cards put card in there to find services – trust in Rotary – connectivity to use fellow Rotarians in business
Public Image citation – if one member goes to another club – 1500 points and also going to Conference Introduced goals – info will be released.Polos for events are being encouraged.

Karen has a career as a writer
Writing was always in me – writing books in Primary School
Cadetship – Leader Community Newspapers
Then moved to Daily papers – Belfast
When came back went back to community, freelanced and worked on magazines
2 boys and a girl decided to go on a road trip around Australia, boys in school, daughter only 4 – on the road schooling
Kids don’t hike or want to wait for the sun to go down
Intended to go for 3 months – had hiccups on trips, before leaving had appendicitis, then 2 weeks in had to return.We carried on and got going again.
6 weeks down the track there was a breakdown – jinxed and troublesome trip but had good times as well
Turned it into The Misadventures of theTravelling Quirkus
From there decided to write a children’s boo The Extraordinary Unordinary Gum Tree
Donations go to Regional Arts Victoria
Lead on to talks at libraries, school events etc.This talk is the first one back from COVID
Just finished an adult fiction manuscript
Writes copy for NPFs as well
Hard to get books published – books are published by herself.To get books traditionally published you need an agent - it is very hard.

Year 12 students are receiving their ‘we love you bags’ again this year – x 89 some of the boys and girls are leaving the school next week as not going on to higher education.
