Hi Everyone and welcome to 2019.  I hope this is a very happy New Year for you all.

Although the Rotary Christmas party already seems a long way off, I personally thought it was a great evening.  Marcus did an excellent job of ensuring that there was something for everyone on the night, food and service was excellent and The Spangles interpretation of the “12 Days of Christmas” was the funniest thing I have seen for ages (Emma’s wobbling of the ‘Partridge in a Pear Tree” supported by rustling of imitation pear branches has left an indelible imprint).

Living up to our reputation as a Club that knows how to party, on 8th January thanks to Tina, we all got a chance to try our hand at lawn bowls.  Our level of teamwork could easily be gauged by the number of bowls that crossed into adjacent lanes on a regular basis and the lack of associated physical violence (although the language could have been improved on occasions 😊).

The Burnt Chop at our place on last Tuesday was very well attended - a big thank you to everyone who brought a plate -  the food was excellent. Thank you also to PP PHF Ken Miller for his help with the Spit Roast.  We were also very grateful to PP PHF Ian Wakefield for all his help behind the scenes.

So, this year looks like we will be pretty busy with the All American now having got all the necessary sign-offs thanks to Peter Brock.  Sangeeta Bajaj has got the Pride of Workmanship underway ready for 19/3, Shalini Penny will be coordinating the Deb Ball.  The Multi-District Conference is looming and the 2019 Program for our club looks exciting.

Our next meeting will be a Club Assembly on January 22nd and the following week we will be at the Pakenham Racecourse - please note no meeting on the Tuesday we will be there on the 31st - I ook forward to seeing you then.

Yours in Rotary,

PRide of Workmanship

Sangeeta is working hard to bring this wonderful event at the club together - keep the date free in your diary, we are going to need a lot of club member support on the night!

When you are out and about please be sure to mention the awards to local business owners too.
