Helloooo and welcome to another week of Good Food, Good Fellowship and the Opportunity to Serve!  I hope we’ve all had a lovely loooong weekend and some luck on the geegees - if you had a little flutter on The Cup.  No luck for me, but a bit of fun anyway.  😊

My Auntie Gwen turned 94 on the 6th November and it got me thinking about all the changes she, and my mum, have seen over those years.  The most simple things...toilet paper and Biro pens...to the most complicated, mobile phones & iPads.  Yet people in some countries are still using leaves for wiping and wells for water.  It’s kind of the luck of birth where one ends up.  Some people are building rockets; others mud huts.  A crazy old world!

We are fortunate to have what we have and even more fortunate to be Rotarians, able to facilitate small changes that make a big difference.  How will you make a difference this week?  Start local with a random act of kindness; go global with a Rotary project!  Introduce a friend to Rotary.  Plant a tree.  Visit an oldie in a nursing home.  Read a story to a child.  Send a hand-written letter to an old friend who hasn’t heard from you for awhile.  Spread some joy!  Make someone smile.  It doesn’t have to be a big event to start a change.  A simple idea can make all the difference....those newspaper squares eventually became a roll of toilet paper. 😉

Finally, for no apparent reason...

There was a green house. Inside the green house there was a white house. Inside the white house there was a red house. Inside the red house there were lots of babies. What is it?

Have a meaningful week!
