• The organisation provides casework and advocacy services to those who need assistance
• Their focus is on creating safer spaces for children
• What is National Survivor’s Day about?  Making a kinder future for those who have been abused- amplifies voices of those who have been abused
• NSD started in 2022 and will be held on 12 November 2024.  Recognising unique experiences of the survivors.
• The day draws attention to unique and individualised journeys of the survivors and recognising progress needs courage
• Last year Morning Tea events were introduced – hosted by Governments and Parliaments and also in smaller groups.  The events pay tribute to the survivors and it is wonderful the community is recognising them.  Ribbons are worn on the day.  The colour of the ribbon chosen by the wearer to recognise the different journey of the survivor.
• Yu can show your support for the entire week by wearing multi-coloured ribbons, tying them to your property in places of prominence such as letterboxes, verandas, cars and by making the pledge to acknowledge survivors through social media.

National Survivors’ Day aims to

Recognise & commemorate the courage and journeys of Survivors of Sexual Assault and Institutional Abuse, their Supporters, and whistle-blowers across Australia.

• Acknowledge the profound harm caused to Survivors and the community by sexual assault and institutional abuse
• Support efforts towards de-stigmatisation, and public acceptance of the work undertaken by Survivors and advocates
• Work to improve responses to Survivors and all those impacted by Sexual Assault and Institutional Abuse

• DG Colin and Leanne – fundraising project is for the Monash Children’s Hospital that is where some of our club members are
• Cake and Champaign night look out for the details $35 pp coming up!
• Bunning BBQ opportunity – date is Boxing Day so, there may be some people willing to support???  We had enough hands to take the opportunity forward

• First walk on Sunday – 4km and went to the café for breakfast – planning to organise the walk every 2 weeks.
• 8.15 at Lakeside Centre

• All-American 16 February 2025, so can members please refrain from booking cruises for that date?!
• The Pride of Workmanship Award, for which employers recognise outstanding employees is currently being planned for 18 March 2025.
