Changeover was a great success thank you to everyone who atteneded - I did want to follow up on a few items from the night.
In regard to the Annual Report - thank you to PP PHF Shalini Penny and PP PHF Kris Ash this was outstanding in terms of contact and this leaves a lasting memory of the year

The goals for the year are that of the club, for all of us not just myself as President and hopefully we will have a year without lockdowns.
KFRWT – PHF John Henderson well underway and a strong committee. New members are welcome to contact John to take part.Great committee to be on to see the workings of the club
All American Car Rally and Man Cave – the chair is yet to be determined. This is a massive fundraiser that generates $12k - $20k potential for the club. The event could be at Gembrook or Pakenham – the committee will decide.
Deb Ball – PHF Lyn Beckwith will be running the event this year. It has been major fundraising for us last Rotary year thanks to the committee and determination of PP PHF Shalini Penny. Everyone taking part and the parents have all said what a great event(s) it was this last year.
Vocational Service – Russ Nielsen will be heading the committee up. We will be holding a Pride of Workmanship Evening perhaps as the Puffing Billy Centre (which we hoped would be the venue for Changeover).
The Emerald Rotary Market will continue. Thee have been concerns over last few months from time to time. However, it’s about haveing a presence as much as numbers attending of funds raised. With the flashing signage this is a great promotion for the club each month.
Membership will bring back Meet Your Rotarian Nights where 4 or so membres gather together in the home of a host and all bring a course for the table. it is intended that this will create interaction between members and catch up with other members you may not know so well.
Rotary Conference in Canberra I have just spent 3 days in Canberra with the Spangles checking out the facilities. So many of the club members are supporting the event. The Great Hall of Parliament House will be the venue for the Saturday night with a 9-piece band. The conference will be a highlight of the year.
Youth – Vocational evening at Emerald Secondary College are planned and the breakfast club will continue under the management of PP PHF Tina McInerny. We look forward to the Primary School Speech contest being organised by PP PHF Gloria Hargreaves.
As a club we need to help Monbulk and Belgrave. If we can help their clubs survive it is better for the RC of Emerald and District. Belgrave helped charter us, we need to give some assistance back.
We have a lot on and with 36 members it would be good to to strive for new members to help with the load.

Message from Ken Delivered by PP PHF Shalini Penny
I am not able to attend tonight's meeting so would like you to pass on to all members of our Club my thanks for the fantastic support I have received and the generous sponsorship from Falcone and Adams.
The Changeover night was like no other that I have attended. Lots of laughs and from the feedback I have received, has for the first time shown that these traditional events can be FUN.
All due to the fantastic efforts of the Spangles, MC Tina, Lynn, Kelly, Tina, Emma, and Catherine with the honey pots and the support of Ian and Don for set up, Ian, Jenny, Don and Roy and others for pack up of banners etc. and to all those that assisted at the check in and hosting on the night. Marcus for organising the welcoming music from Haileybury with a special mention to Jacinta and Nicholas for the rendition of IMAGINE, the only time there was silence in the room.
It would also appear that the "I LOVE YOU KEN" badges will be with me for the whole year. I have attended 2 Changeovers since Saturday night, Lilydale and Glen Waverley. On both occasions I have been greeted by a chorus of "We Love You Ken" much laughter and a display of badges.
You have set the bar at an all time high and I read in the Bentleigh, Moorabbin Central Newsletter that they have already mentioned to Ian Ballantine that they need to start planning now to achieve anything like the same standard.

Vicki Van Den Bergen – A few mentions
- Greg Adams has done a terrific job on the District Newsletter – the average readership of the District Newsletter is around 30% normally and the first edition this year hit 80%.
- PP PHF Shalini Penny – received a special award for leadership of the Hills Recovery Project and Vicki wanted to let those who were not present know.
Membership Marketing and PR
Invitation for new residents is well under way and will provide a welcome to the hills and invitation to come along to a meeting in information packs given out by the Real Estate Agents in town. Awaiting Board approval.
We farewell'd Sam who has looked after us so well - her shifts mean she will no longer be here on a Tuesday night - we had a little collection to help her on her way.

Kris next week all things On-Line – lot of information on websites and we do not tap into it. Reality is not everyone knows where to go.
