This week, thanks to Marcus, a number of us went along to the Pakenham Racecourse at Tynong to experience Night Racing. It was a great evening with the Rotary Club being given a fantastic position overlooking the race track itself, excellent food, a guided tour of the stables courtesy of Ken and a few of us even managed to come away from the evening a few dollars richer. This sort of event is a great way to increase Rotary’s profile and engagement with other organisations (Pakenham Racing Club puts a huge amount back into the local community) as well as provide for a varied and interesting program for Club members.
Hopefully you would have seen that this Sunday morning, a few of us will be supporting Pete on a working bee in preparation for the All American so if you are able to help out and can bring PPE (gloves, ear & eye protection) and any grass cutting, sniping or slashing equipment, that would be much appreciated.
Our next Rotary meeting will be this Tuesday at The Paradise and Russell Bennett is our guest speaker talking about the “Journey of a local Journalist”. Look forward to seeing you all then.
Yours in Rotary,
President Ian Ash

NO Meeting
...... But some winners and grinners at the races
A great night was had by all - many thanks to Marcus for organising the evening and of course to Wade and his team at the racing club for making us all so welcome.
We thought this little horse needed some of Ken's vitamins!!! But apparently some of the race horses get nervous travelling and have a companion that goes with them - ahhhh :)
