Greetings, vibrant Rotarians!

I trust this email finds you bursting with energy and a contagious enthusiasm that lights up every room you enter.

What a phenomenal week it has been, drenched in the spirit of fellowship and camaraderie!
Witnessing our newest club members being embraced with open arms has been nothing short of heartwarming and electrifying.

Before we dive into the exciting details, let me start with a cheerful mea culpa to Melinda – my sincerest apologies for any confusion caused by last week's sparkle. Let's blame autocorrect and John Henderson for any name mix-ups and remember to always keep a sense of humour handy 😊.

Now, let's talk about an adventure of epic proportions! Last Tuesday, a spirited group of around 20 of our club members embarked on a journey to Donations in Kind. Sure, some got a bit lost getting there, and others took a detour on their way out – you know who you are! But what an adventure it was!

I was left in awe, not just by the sheer size of the place but also by the incredible generosity of the donations they receive and have received over time. Their motto, "Rotary is people of action," truly comes to life when you step foot in this remarkable place. It was my first time there, and I half-expected to need my passport to cross the bridge, but it was a journey worth taking. If you haven't been there yet, I wholeheartedly recommend it. The entire team is doing a fantastic job, and I extend my gratitude to our vocational chair, Gayle Barrot, for her exceptional leadership in organizing this outing.

Now, for the upcoming Tuesday, get ready to be enthralled as we welcome Pat and Martin Buoncristiani from U3A!
Pat currently serves as the President of U3A, and some of you may already be familiar with Martin, an honorary member of our club. 

 

U3A stands for the "Emerald University of the Third Age." The concept of creating a local organization to support those in the third stage of life, actively embracing retirement while keeping their minds and bodies engaged, originated in France in the 1970s and has since spread across the globe. Today, U3A provides a platform for people to continue learning, share their wisdom and skills, and relish in physical and social activities within an inclusive community.
