The Rotary Club of Emerald and District Inc was delighted to hand over the keys of a brand-new VW Mini Van Bus to the Insight Education Centre on Wednesday 29 August. The Mini Bus was purchased with the proceeds of the Kids Fun Run With Thomas 2017.
Ian Wakefield, Chairman of that committee thanked the many contributors especially Ferntree Gully Motor Group who organised the delivery of the Mini
Van along with the logo artwork.
The other major contributors were, Puffing Billy Railway, Mattel, BarryPlant/Mitre10 Emerald, Lightning Press and Discovery Parks.
The day wouldn’t happen without the contribution of so many community volunteers and the
Members of the Rotary Club of Emerald and District.
Lastly but not least, a very special thank you was extended to the children who support the event and fundraiser to ensure they live the motto of Kids Fun Run With Thomas - Kids Helping Kids.
Scott Embrey from Ferntree Gully Motor Group spoke about the long- standing partnership with the Rotary Club of Emerald & District Inc and their support of the Kids Fun Run with Thomas since 2006. Scott expressed the pleasure of the group to be able to support great organisations in the local community, stressing it is about giving back. The Motor Group has just completed the 2018 Great Community Raffle in partnership with the Rotary Club. The collaboration shows what good teamwork can achieve.
